According to the World Bank, agriculture is the main source of employment
for nearly three-quarters of the Ugandan population yet farmers can lose up to 40% of their harvest due to poor post-harvest handling and storage. Without cold storage, fruits and vegetables quickly lose nutrition, and appeal, leaving farmers with less profit and bargaining power.
